How to Request a Loan from Your 401(k)

In this video, you will learn how to request a loan from your 401(k) account using our website.

1. Go to and click “Log In” on the top right hand side of the page.

2. Enter your username and password.

3. Click on Withdrawals in the blue ribbon.

4. Click on Loan Request.

5. Read the loan request information, then click apply for a loan when ready.

6. Read the terms and conditions, select the checkbox, then click the button to agree to the terms.

7. Your personal information will automatically populate. If you need to make a change, please go back to your main profile and make the change there before proceeding. If all of your information is correct, click next.

8. Choose whether you want a personal loan or residential loan, then choose your payment term. You can pick up to a five year term for personal loan. For a residential loan, the term may vary depending on what your plan allows. Type in your desired loan amount, review the disclosure, Then select how often you receive a paycheck. Review your payment terms, then when you’re ready, click next.

9. Choose whether you’d like to receive your money through an electronic transfer or by paper check in the mail. If you choose an electronic transfer, click the add bank account button to provide your banking details for the transfer. You will also be asked to provide a backup delivery method if your online transfer fails. You can choose between standard or overnight mail. Once you have filled out the necessary information, click next.

10. If you are applying for a residential loan, you will see a screen to upload supporting documentation. Upload your documents, then click review.

11. Review all of your information for accuracy. Check the box at the bottom of the page to acknowledge the terms, conditions, and fees listed. Then click submit application.

Please remember: it takes 10-15 business days to process the loan. In addition to the processing time, please allow 1-3 business days to receive the funds electronically and 7-10 days for checks sent via mail.
